An Intimate Rustic Barn Wedding at Home In Utah from Pepper Nix Photography
Today's real wedding of Jen and Paul is definitely going down as one of my favorites. Along with the amazing photos from Pepper Nix Photography, this blue and yellow wedding was intimate with under 100 guests and took place at home. The bride's parents home actually, among 160 acres of aspen trees in Utah. The couple married in an Aspen Grove and the reception was held at their neighbor's "barn". Everything was either made or designed by the bride and her mother.

Jen and Paul opted for a first look and here's what the bride wrote: "We did do a first look. Mostly, we were influenced by the timing of the ceremony. Given the time of year, we wanted to have the ceremony during the warmest and least windy part of the day on the ranch which was 4 PM. This did not give us much time to do pictures prior to the reception dinner at 6 PM and we wanted to reserve the time we did have for family photos and make sure that our time together for photos was not rushed. I love having a picture of the way he looked when he saw me in my dress for the 1st time. I have never felt more beautiful."

Wildflowers were used at Jen and Paul's wedding to fit the setting. Aspen logs were carved out and used as planters to fill with an assortment of colorful flowers and shepherds hooks were used to hold flowers that lined the aisle. The tables at the reception were an assortment of wooden ranch tables of different shapes and sizes with burlap runners and vintage bottles of wildflowers scattered about. Table numbers were made of moss and my favorite part was the napkins that were cornflower blue bandanans. The wedding cake was a round, 2 tier cake with white frosting and cornflower blue aspen leaves. The flavor? Lemon poppyseed.

Here's the Wedding Menu for Jen and Paul

Top 6 Pins of the Week for 8-23-13 + Share Your Engagement or Wedding Announcement Online

Before I share with you some of the hottest {most popular} pins of the past couple weeks, I have something that my brides might like to partake in. TheAnnouncementSite.com has launched and it's the place where newly engaged and married couples can announce their weddings and engagements. Here's how they describe their site: "

"The service is free and there are no hidden fees, upgrade gimmicks, or installations required, simply a straight-forward publishing site. The site takes the information from an online form filled out by a couple and uses proprietary software and professional human editors to create a classic, formal-style announcement. The result is an elegantly crafted and modern announcement that can be easily shared with the couples’ friends, relatives and colleagues. Bill Bulkeley, who worked as a Wall Street Journal reporter for many years, created TheAnnouncementSite.com to give couples a free, easy-to-use alternative to newspaper announcements."
What's Hot in Weddings for August 23, 2013 : the color yellow . . . brooch bouquets . . . pearl detailing on cake . . . stunning necklines and backs of wedding dresses
And, now for what's been hot on my pinterest boards . . . looks like there's been lots of yellow and some AMAZING cakes, bouquets and wedding dress details. Don't you just love the back of the Anna Campbell Gossamer gown? And, the beaded neckline on the wedding gown means no necklace is needed. What about that 4-tier pillow cushion cake? BEYOND STUNNING!!! The yellow and green brooch bouquet is perfect for fall. Planning a rustic wedding? The 3-tier white and yellow wedding cake is a great choice. And, lastly, the yellow and white wedding cake with huge sugar flower is just lovely.

I am so in LOVE with today's Real Wedding feature from Anna Bella Charles {fine art photography}. Not only is the bride's dress absolutely stunning, but the soft color palette of peach and yellow is gorgeous. Just perfect for a summer wedding in Tennessee. When Life Hands You Lemons... plan a lemon yellow inspired wedding

Well, since yesterday and today have turned out to be different than I originally planned on - I decided it was time for a lemon yellow inspired wedding inspiration board. I ended up having one dr appt turn into another resulting in me being gone for 3+ hrs yesterday. Luckily a blood clot was ruled out, but I still can't seem to manage the swelling in my left foot that hubby at times refers to it as "elephant foot". Lovely, right? Well, today I have an unplanned appt at the ob to see if anything can be done. One of the many joys of pregnancy in the later months I guess. So, as a result of this, I decided to do some searching and put together this lemon yellow wedding board for you with a touch of hot pink. But, now, I'm really craving a tall glass of lemonade :)
