Today's Styled Bridal Session from Maggie Fortson Photography is stunning in the red wine Marsala color - which also happens to be the Pantone Color of the Year. One of Maggie's favorite portions of the wedding day is when she gets to photograph the bridal portraits. With the hustle and bustle of the typical wedding day, Maggie isn't able to spend the amount of time she desires photographing the bride. So, she teamed up with a handful of talented wedding artists to spend the time focusing on a bridal session, creatively.
The dress designer, Cettina, wanted to create a wedding gown that was very delicate and romantic. She wanted to keep the silhouette very classic while giving the dress a feminine touch with an open back and hand sewn lace appliqué. It's absolutely beautiful. For the other two dresses, she really liked the way the marsala and the pale blue colors complimented each other and I completely agree. The softness of the blue with the rich red color is so striking.
The floral designer, Wallflower Designs, wanted the florals {including the floral crown} to have a romantic, natural look and feel. For the bouquets, she loves the current trend of lush, flowing, oversized bouquets that incorporate lots of draping greenery. For the bouquet that was paired with the wedding gown, she incorporated Juliet garden roses, succulents and Silver Dollar eucalyptus. For the bridal look, the floral designers kept the colors soft and neutral. The floral hairpiece was a bit more subtle so that it looked as if the model had a few flowers tucked behind her ear.
With the marsala colored bridesmaid's dress - deeper tones of burgundy with accents of pink, peach, champagne, blue and lavender along with a fun mix of flowers including Pink Ice protea, Clooney ranunculus, blue thistle, some mini lotus pods painted gold and other textural blooms were incorporated. To add some drama with this look, the floral hairpiece was more of an oversized floral crown made from fully opened garden rose and ranunculus blooms.
For the make-up - Carly Does Makeup wanted to focus on enhancing the model's already amazing features & drawing attention to them without overdoing the look or style. For the marsala color, she added a little more lash and bolder lip color to go with the moody & artsy feel of the shoot. With the ivory dress, she kept everything very soft, fresh and romantic.
