Rustic Luxury Makes for the Perfect Wedding at Migis Lodge

It seems that there is no traditional venue for a wedding these days - from destination weddings, to crazy locales, a lot of brides and grooms are looking for something different. As this Wall Street Journal article, "The Bride Wore Bug Spray" points out, a recent trend has been sleep-away camp weddings. And why not? The remote and beautiful natural surroundings make for the perfect wedding backdrop, while guests can revisit their youth by sleeping in bunk beds and eating at picnic tables.

Of course, some of it can be off-putting, or just a little too "out-there" for brides - so where can you go to get the best of both worlds? A beautiful natural environment, with the creature comforts and luxuries of a high-end resort? Migis Lodge on Sebago Lake in Maine provides the perfect rustic luxury setting where brides can relax and take in the enchanting views while resting assured that their day will go off without a hitch.

Migis Lodge is a magical location for a wedding and reception. Imagine the bride arriving to her ceremony on the classic Chris Craft lake cruiser, and then exchanging vows under the pines with Sebago Lake and Western Maine’s mountains in the background.  After the ceremony the bride and groom and their guests will enjoy cocktails, dinner and dancing at the lakeside lodge, and perhaps finish the evening around a bonfire on the front terrace.

Brides and grooms will enjoy undivided attention as they have exclusive use of the property on their wedding day.  Migis Lodge hosts weddings in May and the first weekends in June, then after Columbus Day until around the first of November.  Wedding guests are offered a special bed and breakfast rate and will enjoy overnight accommodations in our 35 cottages and six lodge rooms, all with fieldstone fireplaces, handmade quilts, fine linens, and daily maid service.
