The Landing Resort & Spa Offers Ultra-luxe Lakeside Wedding Venue

The Landing Resort & Spa, Lake Tahoe’s first lakeside five-star luxury resort, will open its doors December 12, 2013 to travelers looking for an ultra-luxe experience that embraces an intimate connection with the lake, from lake-view rooms, decks and patios, to private beach access for guests. The new resort on the shores of Lake Tahoe will boast 88 guest rooms featuring fireplaces, private decks and a long list of five-star amenities, as well as a new Greek and California cuisine restaurant and full-service spa. The Landing’s wedding venues range from the 3,600-square-foot Grand Rooftop Terrace overlooking the lake to more intimate lake-view banquet rooms and an event pavilion for 300 guests. The Landing offers the highest standard of service, including the personalized expertise of in-house Director of Weddings Lisa Gallup, and the boutique size of the hotel makes buy-outs an option for the ultimate Tahoe luxury wedding experience.

Owners Jim and Nancy Demetriades have designed The Landing Resort & Spa as a five-star property down to the last detail – managing every aspect from initial concept through architecture, interior design, staffing and service – determined to exceed even the most exacting guests’ expectations.

“When we first saw the property we realized the potential for a five-star resort due to its unique location,” says Jim Demetriades. “It is close to the Heavenly gondola for skiing, the marina for water activities, Edgewood Country Club for golf, and just blocks from the gaming, shows, and shopping of South Lake Tahoe – not to mention the surrounding natural offerings of the High Sierras.”

Nancy Demetriades, an actress and experienced interior designer, created the dramatic hotel interior. “In designing The Landing, I wanted the building to have the feeling that it had been there for years and I tried to achieve that with the stone on the outside of the building, the gas lights, and some traditional pieces in the rooms. But I also wanted to keep it fresh with some modern pieces and the best modern amenities as well,” she says. “I tried to marry modern with traditional. The traditional gives it a solid feeling while the modern pieces keep it fresh.”

Under Nancy’s design, all rooms feature luxurious contemporary European style furnishings and the old world charm of wood floors, marble bathrooms, custom-made headboards and stonework – while also including such top modern amenities as 55-inch wall mounted televisions, in-room Keurig coffee service, pillow top beds with high thread-count linens, premium down pillows and comforters, plush robes, heated bathroom floors, heated toilet seats, waterfall showers, and private decks, most with a Lake Tahoe view. Select suites also offer aromatherapy, heat therapy, music therapy, light therapy, steam showers, heated towel racks and thermo masseur tubs in the guest bath.

Warmth and light are key design features throughout the resort: all rooms have fireplaces, the lobby has an oversized stone-faced fireplace, outdoor fire pits on a lakeside patio outside the new Jimmy’s Restaurant serve as a gathering spot for guests with beautiful views of Lake Tahoe, and the resort is lit with romantic gas lamps.

Additional resort amenities include a large wine cellar featuring a special selection of 250 labels from around the world, a backlit onyx-walled bar, outdoor pool and hot tub, a state-of-the-art fitness center with steam showers, and a lake-view meeting room and boardroom. Complimentary amenities include valet service, business center, high-speed WiFi and internet connections. Seasonal amenities include complimentary “town cruiser” bicycles and free ski storage, ski valet and boot warmers.

Jimmy’s Restaurant, constructed and opening with the hotel, serves wood-fired Greek seafood and locally sourced California cuisine and includes private dining alcoves with fireplaces for a luxuriously intimate experience.

The Landing’s full-service spa and hair salon offers customized spa treatments using organic and natural botanicals, including sports-specific treatments perfect for guests enjoying outdoor activities on the lake or in the mountains. The spa also includes a sauna, steam room, special couple’s room and relaxing Spa Sanctuary serving a selection of detoxifying teas

Located adjacent to Lake Tahoe’s Lakeside Beach, The Landing Resort & Spa provides private beach access for guests. To ensure the perfect vantage point for capturing the famous views, The Landing also boasts a 3,600-square-foot rooftop deck, perfect for parties, weddings and events.

The all-new The Landing Resort & Spa offers an ultra-luxe resort experience and is walking distance to the golf, outdoor concerts, nightlife, dining and shopping opportunities of South Lake Tahoe.  Just three blocks from Heavenly Village and Gondola, Village Center and gaming casinos, The Landing provides complimentary local transportation via Mercedes Sprinter to South Lake Tahoe hot spots.
