Willowbend Country Club in Mashpee is a posh private club . It’s also one of the Cape’s most picturesque locations for weddings and receptions. The grand clubhouse with panoramic windows overlooks the championship golf course, colorful working cranberry bogs and rustic New England red barn.
While June may be the most popular month for weddings in most of the country, October is quickly edging it out in Massachusetts, and it’s no surprise. With the budding fall foliage and ruby red cranberry bogs, nature provides a perfect colorful backdrop. And Willowbend offers a post-card like venue as you can see in these photos.
Willowbend wedding packages include a dedicated wedding coordinator who will work with the couple on every last detail from food to flowers and favors. Executive Chef Paul Cunningham works with the couple to prepare the menus, which range from casual clambakes to elaborate sit-down dinners. Chef Cunningham has been feeding the well-heeled and gourmands of the world for nearly three decades. A former sous chef at the world famous Le Cirque, he has been at the helm of Willowbend for the past seventeen years, where he’s known for infusing his dishes with local Cape ingredients.
And as an added bonus? What better way to de-stress than with a complimentary round of golf on Willowbend’s private links the day before or morning of the wedding (often used by the couple or by the groom and his dad or best man). The course is a haven for celebs and PGA players, and overlooks the bogs and beautiful Shoestring Bay.
