DIY Halloween Wreath with Feather Boas and Fascinators

Today's DIY was actually created by my mom and it was the inspiration behind the Halloween Wedding inspiration board that went up earlier this morning. This DIY wreath is perfect for Halloween, but you can easily change the colors to suit any type of event including bridal showers and bachelorette parties. My mom used a wreath form {you could use any shape you like} and 3 black feather boas were enough to cover the styrofoam form. She then found the feather hair clips at Joann's on clearance for just over a $1 each. What a GREAT Bargain! Creating gorgeous decor for events doesn't have to cost a fortune.

Fun DIY Napkin Holders for bridal showers with ribbons and buttons

With spring around the corner I thought these DIY Napkin Holders would be perfect for upcoming bridal showers. The complete DIY can be found on Ideas Mag and if you'd like to make them even a bit easier you could always use green pipe cleaners for the stems instead of wrapping floral tape around wire. And, you might want to hot glue the ribbon loops to each other instead of sewing them. Looking for the perfect bridal shower invitation to coordinate with the napkin holders - I spied this Bright Blossoms Custom Bridal Shower Invitation at zazzle and thought they looked so cute paired together.

Eye Candy Friday : spectacular green and red bouquet with apples

It has been ages since I shared an Eye Candy Friday photo with you - but as soon as I saw this image from Laura Babb, I knew it was time to change that. Don't you just love the apples in the bouquet? So different. So unique. So amazing. And, the bride's green sash is just perfection with the bouquet. The bouquet is from Blush Floral Design.

Beautiful Floral Arrangements : Shipping Worldwide with Interflora

Spring is on it's way and even though it's still chilly and windy in the northeast, nothing says springtime to me more than brightly colored fresh flowers. Whether you are looking to send flowers to USA or send flowers abroad, Interflora is a great shopping destination for flower gifts and wedding flowers.

The arrangements above are available for shipping to the US

Even though the two above arrangements are only availabe for shipping within the UK, I couldn't resist showing them. In particular, the 100 Hand-tied roses is just exquisite. Each long-stemmed red rose is arranged by hand to create the opulent display. To finish off the bouquet there is a sprinkling of sparkling diamanté pins. And, the arrangement on the right is just beautiful for either a wedding or bridal shower centerpiece.

Top Trends for Wedding Flowers in 2009

I'd like to thank Cori at Elegala for emailing me over the following information on the top 2009 trends for wedding flowers. What flowers are you planning to use for your wedding? I'd love to hear.

from Elegala . . .
Today's brides are following the old adages, "less is more" and "use your imagination". The sayings may be cliche – but the latest trends in wedding flowers are anything but.

Daring Colors:
Gone are the days of adhering to light pastels and muted shades in wedding decorations. Today's brides are opting for bold and interesting pairings of colors in their wedding flowers and floral schemes. Not afraid of mixing purples and orange's, the post-millennium color palette is expanding.

More than Just Flowers:
Mix it up a bit by incorporating produce. One of the hot trends in wedding flowers is arrangements featuring fruits, herbs and even veggies as a playful and fun approach. Their naturally vibrant colors coincide with the daring color trend. Many brides are also turning to the woods for inspiration. Green grasses add dimension and structure and can elicit a warm, summery feeling.

Dynamic Tables:
Table arrangements are also becoming more dynamic. Instead of conforming to identical floral arrangements on each table, some brides are using different containers, varying the heights, or grouping an assortment of low centerpieces together.

Keep it Simple:
Gone are the days of overpowering floral arrangements adorned with excess filler flowers. Today's brides opt for a more natural and tailored look to their wedding flowers. One bouquet style rising in popularity is the hand tied bouquet. The fresh bunch of flowers presents the look of simple elegance that brides desire.
