Pretty Personalized Gift Packaging Makes All the Difference

Happy Monday. I am excited to share today's post with you as there's a super fun way to gift your wedding guests with some pretty packaging. Rebecca, of Thurston Post, recently held a giveaway on her instagram account and I was lucky to win one of her Gift Wrap Kits. When she sent me a sneak peek of what was coming my way {see below}, I fell in love. And, then when the package arrived in the mail and I saw it in person, I didn't even want to open it - it looked even prettier in person. But, I did end up opening the package because I couldn't wait to check out the beautiful paper goodies inside. Receiving a beautiful package with my own name on it was so exciting. Personalizing gifts {or favors} for your party and wedding guests is a definite way of catching their attention. It shows them you care and you took the time to gift them something special.

At Thurston Post, you will find a fun selection of handmade gift packaging, greeting cards, washi-covered mini clothespins, and even crafting supplies like doilies and bakers twine. Rebecca even accepts custom orders to create crafty packaging for weddings and even for branding your personal business. Thurston Post is definitely my kind of shop as I have a love of pretty paper goods and crafting supplies :)

The mini gift wrap kits that Rebecca offers makes gift wrapping a breeze and they start at just $10. You will receive adorable little tags, doilies, and washi/glitter covered mini clothespins and more {like sequins, bakers twine and glassine bags} to complete your packaging look.

Now, it's your turn - what will you wrap up in a pretty package with a gift wrap kit from Thurston Post?

DIY Printable Halloween Pinwheels for Wedding Favors + a Fun Holiday Banner

I wanted to kick-off Halloween week with something fun not only for Halloween, but for any wedding or party as these stylish DIY Pinwheels are available in 14 other color choices. These paper pinwheels have got to be the easiest ever to make and look super cute attached to gifts or favor boxes - plus at $3 a template, they're also a real bargain. They're from You Make Do™ and are available for purchase as a download making them easy to customize. Maybe you don't want black and white pinwheels. That's no problem as you can simply print on any color paper you choose and you'll have the black chevron on a pretty color background. {I filled my favor boxes with candy corn that I lined with a black paper doily}

To make these pinwheels you will need the following:
- card stock paper of your color choice {the template has 2 pinwheels per page}
- a printer {these were printed on an Epson XP-950}
- scissors or an Xacto knife
- brass fasteners to hold the pinwheel together {1/2 inch size}
- glue to adhere the pinwheel to the package

Once you have the pinwheels printed, you will follow the guidelines for cutting them out and then you can either fold inwards or backwards - depending on your preference for the chevron pattern. I picked the black pattern as it reminded me of Halloween. TIP: I used a small hole punch for the tips of the pinwheel, and then just made a small slit in the center for the brass fastener to go thru. The pinwheel template comes with small circles to cover up the centers of the pinwheel and add a finishing touch.

PS: The Happy Halloween Banner you see is also from You Make Do™ - and I printed it on orange paper so the letters would be a color on the black background. It's now hanging on the mirror over our decorated mantle in the living room. The cute bat tag on the favor box was a bonus circle included with the banner. I used my 2 inch circular paper punch to cut out the banner and then hole punched the top and used orange and black bakers twine I found at Target for $1.

Friday Favor of the Day : Washi Tape Collections
washi tape collections from Daisy Days
Now, I don't know about you, but I'm what you could say "head over heels" in love with washi tape. I even have my 6 year old daughter hooked. She loves sealing envelopes with the colorful tape. Did you know that you could find washi tape at Daisy Days? And, it's not just one roll at a time - nope . . . it's actual washi tape collections. Think sets of chevron washi tape, polka dotted washi tape, damask washi tape and there's even a fun spring washi tape collection.

In case you don't know - I should probably mention that washi tape is a high quality Japanese-style decorative adhesive paper tape. It's semi transparent and can easily be removed and repositioned.

The ideas for washi tape uses are endless - you can dress up your packaging with it, add it to your scrapbook pages, wrap wooden cutlery with it and the craft project ideas are never ending. PS: I currently have 12 rolls of washi tape :) How many washi tape rolls do you have?
