7 Romantic Ways to Wear "Something Blue" on your Wedding Day
There are so many ways you can incorporate "something blue" into your wedding day. But, one special way is with a sapphire gemstone {the traditional symbol of nobility, truth, and romance} that can be worn again and again after your big day. This month, there's something extra special about blue. Not only is sapphire the birthstone for September, but today happens to be my little girl's 3rd birthday {who tends to answer blue nearly every time you ask her "what color is this?"}. I think she realizes how pretty blue is.

Today, I have teamed up with Blue Nile and I'm sharing with you my 7 romantic ways to have pretty Sapphire Gemstones be the "something blue" on your wedding day. PS: simply use the coupon code BRENDA when shopping at Blue Nile to save 10% online or via phone.

A Pink and Blue Summer Wedding with Roses Inspiration Board

Today's post is another fun flashback to a past inspiration board I created. Since, it's now officially summer, I thought it would be fun to kick it off with a pastel summery inspiration board for a pink rose wedding with sweet little blue touches. And, since it's summer, why not serve your guests gourmet ice cream with their cake? It's the perfect treat for a hot summer party. PS: There's a fun new addition to this inspiration board - be sure to see the end of this post to see what it is.

The above sash was shared with me from Kathleen Barry Bespoke Occasion Accessories right after I posted this inspiration board and I just had to add it in. She just finished creating this bridal floral sash for a Bride to be in Washington. It's the perfect match for my inspiration board.

Pretty In Blueberries Wedding Inspiration

With it getting closer and closer to the opening of Farmer's Markets around us - I thought it would be fun to bring back on of my favorite "fruit inspired inspiration boards". I've updated it a little bit but I love the idea of incorporating blueberries into your wedding or bridal shower. You could even serve your guests vanilla ice cream topped with blueberries drizzle of honey on top. You could even skip the traditional dinner if you want to do something totally unexpected and serve breakfast instead - think blueberry pancakes with homemade blueberry jam as wedding favors? Or, better yet, how about blueberry pancake cupcakes? And, maybe even blueberry bruschetta? There's so many great ideas to incorporate the blueberries into your event.

A Blue and Lemon Yellow Wedding {inspiration board}

Today's inspiration board was created for the bride of Lauren, who is the owner of Ten23 Designs. Lauren is creating the monogram for the bride and her groom who are planning a spring/summer 2011 wedding. The bride comes from a proud navy family and is marrying into another navy family. She is hoping to have an outdoor ceremony and an inside reception. She's looking to have some type of lemonade booth or table and wants to wear yellow shoes under her dress. From talking with the bride, Lauren also gathered she might want to have lemons worked into the decor. When I came across the photo of the lemons being used a place cards I knew that would be perfect. It's a great way to incorporate lemons, without the need to use them in the floral vases as is often done. And, the brides colors are going to be navy and powder blue with lemon yellow. Here's what I put together as an inspirational starting point for Lauren's bride.
