Real Wedding : a snowy day with a sparkling candlelit reception

Now, I know we are in summer, and some would say showing a winter wedding in the warm season shouldn't be done. But, I'm guessing that some of my readers are planning a winter wedding and are looking for ideas. And, if you're not - well, I have a feeling you are going to fall in love with this Washington DC wedding of Kara and Tom, photographed by Rob Holley Photography. From the gorgeous bridal portraits to the sparkling candlit reception, this is an amazing wedding with a "Reminiscent of a Winter’s Day" theme, coordinated by Claudia Lutman Events. And, mother nature helped this theme come to life as 7” of snow was visible from the floor to ceiling palladium windows of the mirror enhanced ballroom.

Don't you just love the aisle vases filled with florals and a floating candles? For this January wedding, Claudia of Claudia Lutman Events established a serene feeling of winter, reminiscent of a cold Washington, DC winter’s day. Guests were invited with an invitation adorned with a pine branch, dusted with iridescent glitter, ivory snow and pink rhinestones. From there, a winter’s dream began.

I LOVE the photo below - the unexpected events when captured in a photo are the best.
And, the color of the bridesmaids dresses against the white snow is absolutely gorgeous.

To best describe the reception colors and design, I will share with you the words that Claudia sent along to me as it's best in her words . . . "Natural, yet calm, colors of champagne and pale pink evoked a warm element; while the crisp, cold outside was brought into the ballroom with centerpieces of curly willow branches representing winter trees, while dramatic color washes of various shades of ice blue glistened off the silver mirrored organza table linen."

Thank you so much Robert and Claudia for sharing this beautiful winter wedding with my readers today. To see from Rob Holley Photography, please visit his web site and blog. And, of course, you can see more from Claudia Lutman Events at her web site.

Gorgeous. I love candle-lit ceremonies, and am determined to make it work at mine - even though it will be summer and broad daylight!
