Photo Shoot : A Berry Sweet Summertime Strawberry Bridal Shower

strawberry-1.jpg

I recently decided to put together my own photo shoot that I designed/styled and just last week it was showcased on the Dog n' Bird Artful Wedding blog and Monday on The Wedding Salon blog. Today, I'm super excited to share the shoot with you. I had an amazing photographer, Tiffany Wayne Photography, join me to shoot the tablescape and dessert table along with an amazing florist, Anthology Design Studio, that put together the most beautiful arrangements. I couldn't have imagined a more perfectly matched floral arrangement for this shoot. And, even a few etsy artists joined me with sharing their items for the shoot - Macaron Parlour and Once Upon a Pedestal. And, Once Upon a Pedestal has been so kind to share a 10% discount off any one item in their shop. Simply enter code "WEDDING" in notes to seller at checkout to receive your discount.

I mixed in a couple unique and fun ideas in the shoot, and one was serving the strawberry infused lemonade in glass votive candle holders.

I had such a blast putting this shoot together which took place right in my parents own backyard, exactly where my bridal shower had taken place 8 years ago. My goal was to create a shoot amidst the many that I know are showcased daily with one that could be approachable by anyone. A sweet and special design that would be budget friendly and make use of items that are either already around or items that can easily be re-used after the event.

For this particular shoot I wanted to create a unique and fresh bridal shower theme that would be perfect for the summer and of course strawberries immediately came to mind. Once I had a theme, I decided it would be fun to ask all guests to bring along their favorite strawberry dessert recipe on the card that was enclosed with the invitation. This way, the bride would have a wonderful collection to start her recipe box with.

Along with the invitation and recipe cards, I created all the printables including the menu, jam favor label, paper garland, and dessert tags. Many of these printable are now available in my etsy shop.

Another fun idea was serving muffins instead of cupcakes and presenting them on red glass candle holders that I found at Pier1 Imports for 50 cents each.
