Giveaway : Gift Card towards MissNowMrs Name-Change Service

Another Tuesday = Another Giveaway. This week, we're joined by Elisabeth of Miss Now Mrs (home of the easiest way to change your name online) who is offering up a gift card for her online name-change service. The contest is open to both bride-to-be's and recent brides. MissNowMrs.com is the premier online name-change service for brides and newlyweds, already having served over 40,000 brides since their launch two years ago.

The staff at Miss Now Mrs has personally researched the name-change procedure for each state and has broken it into three easy steps: Questions, Forms & File. With your MissNowMrs.com account, you will be guided through all three steps in 30 minutes {which will save you the approximate 13 hours associated with struggling through the name-change form research and completion if you were doing it on your own}.

To enter the contest, simply leave me a comment {wedding thought} with your wedding date {past or future} and what is worrying you the most about the name change process. The contest runs thru Monday January 25th, with a winner being selected on Tuesday January 26th. Please be sure to leave your email address on the comment form so I can email you if you're the lucky winner {it will not be published}. PS: don't forget to share this post with all your engaged friends.

This is great. I not looking forward to doing all the paperwork to change my name on everything. I also worry about whether or not I should wait to change my name until after the honeymoon and I am going out of the country. Does that matter? My wedding date is May 15, 2010!

I'm just worried that I'll somehow forget to change my name with some very important organization or something! I know there is a long list of places that will need to know, but I'm afraid I'll overlook one in the process. I'm getting married May 22, 2010 :)

This is a great contest, I have not been looking forward to going through the process, especially when in the newlywed phase. I'm getting married April 17, 2010, thanks!

Thank you for running this contest! I'm getting married on October 9, 2010. My biggest worry with changing my name is that I won't know where to go first, and might go to places in the wrong order (like trying to change my voter registration before notifying social security or something). I keep remembering just how many accounts and subscriptions and whatnot that I have do deal with!

I know the name change paperwork will be difficult, but I also know the hardest part about changing my name will be introducing myself! I know I'll forget sometimes and resort to my maiden name! We're getting married SO soon! February 14, 2010! I'm going to wait to do the name change paperwork until after we've settled back in, for sure...this time in the planning process is WAY too stressful. Thanks for running this contest Brenda...programs like this make the logistics much easier.

I'm worried I don't know the first place to start. I don't even know the process of changing my name. And do I do it before the honeymoon or after? I'm concerned how it will affect travel documents. This would help so much! Wedding is Sept. 25, 2010.

January 19, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterJulie

I was previously married and one of the most trying parts of my divorce was the difficulty I had in changing my name back to my maiden name! Every piece of mail with my old name was just a sad reminder of something I wanted to put behind me. Despite that, I do plan to change my name again. For one, I kind of feel like it would be unfair to not change my name this time since I changed it last time, and also, because whenever I have children, I would like for the entire family to have the same last name. That being said, I am worried that changing my name again will be a huge hassle. I still have my formerly married last name on my cell phone bill because their process is bizarrely complicated.
I'm getting married April 9, 2011.

Great giveaway! I'm worried I wont be able to get my name changed quickly and efficiently! I would love to win this! We're getting married April 30, 2011!

I'm worried that I'll miss changing my name with one organization and it will cause a massive headache. My wedding date is September 5, 2010.

January 19, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterDarya

My biggest worry is traveling. I worry that I will not update all the correct documentation and that will hold up any travel plans in the future! I am waiting to change my name until after the honeymoon because we are traveling internationally, but I dread the name change process in general. This site looks like a great alternative! Great contest!

Oops, and my wedding date is February 19th, 2010. One month to go!!

January 19, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterAlexis M

I haven't even started to think about the name change process because of how much I'm dreading it!
With our wedding March 5, 2011 we have some time, but all I can picture are long lines at every government office imaginable! The thing I'm most worried about is a mishap between my name change and passport/honeymoon reservations. I'd be bummed if I messed up the name change and ruined our honeymoon!

January 19, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterNikki

I'm worried nobody will know who I am anymore! (in the working world that is)

I'm acquiring a hispanic name, so I'm sure some people will be confused about my name not matching my pasty white skin :) My wedding is July 31, 2010

January 19, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterStephanie

I'm worried that I'll forget to use my new married name. My wedding is 9/5/10.

January 19, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterDasha

The thing that is worrying me most about changing my name is identity theft. I'm worried that putting so much of my personal information out there, and possibly missing a step or doing something incorrectly, this will lead me to have my old (or new) name used fraudulently. I'm also worried about the amount of time and effort changing my name is going to require. Thank goodness for services like this!

January 19, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterCaroline

Like some of the other posters, I'm worried about forgetting an important step. I'm applying to graduate school right now (with my maiden name!) and I'm worried about showing up to register in August (with my shiny new married name.) They'll believe I'm the same person they admitted, right?! I'm getting married June 26, 2010.

January 19, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterJenna

I am worried mostly because my fiance's last name is de Leon, there is a space in it and its written in a specific way. What if they get it wrong? Also, He is in the military and we can't plan our honeymoon until about a month before the wedding depending on what the military plans for him. So I'm stressing that the timeline of changing my name won't line up with his timeline. We're getting married on September 4, 2010

This is a great giveaway! I'm actually entering in hopes of winning this for my sis-in-law! She was married on Aug 22, 2009 and has yet to change her name! It has been causing all sorts of problems. At work( bank) she goes by her married last name, but legally every check, notice, memo, letter, anything she signs or files, has to have her LEGAL name! Ladies, do not hesitate to change your name!

January 19, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMelissa

I think that the thing that is worrying me most about the name change is the connotation that is associated with his family name. He is turning his life around but the rest of the family has a bad name and I do not want the same stigma. We are currently trying to come up with some other options. 8/25/2010

Oh man, great thought! My wedding is March 26, 2010. I think I am most worried about somehow it affecing my credit. Also, my passport. I am afraid I might forget something important, too

My email is k80@juno.com!

January 19, 2010 | Unregistered Commenterkatie

I'm not looking forward to moving a month before the wedding, having to change all my addresses etc. then 1 month later go back and change it all again to my new name!

June 13, 2010.

January 19, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterRobin

Wow! This sounds so helpful! I'm pretty much worried about everything that has to do with changing your name. I really want to get it right so there is no paper work mistakes or confusion. We are getting married May 1, 2010

January 19, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterTessa

I am getting married June 2011 and I am most worried that I am going to forget I changed my name and sign something important (like a check) with my maiden name!

January 19, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMissMeg

I'm worried I'll forget one tiny but important place to change it. There are so many things to change it on! I can't wait to get married September 5th, 2010!

January 19, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterSophie

I'm just worried about taking on a family name that I still feel out of place in, that and I'm very proud of my welsh heritage! Date is Sept. 2011, we're still trying to decide between the two last weeks!
