Charming DIY Wedding : Ashley and Brandon in Nashville

Today's charming DIY wedding was sent to me by the bride herself and I'm in love! From the details to the colors this wedding is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Plus it's eco-friendly and a little bit hippie. The wedding is completely handmade and ended up coming in at a cost of $3,000. AMAZING! As Ashley writes... "I made everything from the invitations to the bouquets to floral arrangements to programs to centerpieces to wreaths on the doors to the favors to ring bearer pillow (or nest, in this case) to my hairpiece and my dress embellishments." Ashley also writes... "We had 5 themes or focuses, if you will: nature, eclectic vintage finds, eco-friendly and handmade endeavors, our love for music, and color!" More talk in a bit, let's first see some photos . . .
Dress originally: $3000 | price at time of purchase: $100
Ashley added a polka-dotted organza overlay and sash to raise the waistline and the bird embroidery was done by her and her mom.
Hairpiece was made by Ashley to incorporate her aqua shoes, colors from her bouquet and the birds on her sash.
Flowers purchased at Michael's during a half-price sale on all their silk flowers (personally, I though these were real flowers)
Guess what? I've got even more to show you later this morning from this lovely wedding. And... Ashley is now planning weddings - but, more details on that later . . . I have to show you the rest of her wedding first. Please do come back

Church and reception: both were at Blakemore Church of the Nazarene in Nashville

Hair and makeup: Amy Lynn Larwig of Nashville

As someone who attended the wedding, I can tell you that it was the most beautiful and special wedding I've ever attended.

Wow! I'm soooo impressed! I love the overall effect and can't believe it was pulled off with such a tiny budget! Please tell me where you found that dress???

Thank you for sharing this! It seems that many times the "small budget weddings" that are featured online and in wedding magazines come in around $10,000. It's nice to see how beautiful a wedding can look for even less. My budget is about $3000, so it's nice to see the inspiration. :)

I'd like to know how many guests they had.

Thanks again! :)

Rebekah, you are too sweet and I know exactly what you mean about other "small budgets!". To answer your question, we had about 150 guests. Feel free to ask any more questions!

Wow, the wedding gown is such a steal. I love the idea about the sash and the bride's hairpiece looks amazing. What a great wedding!!!

What an inspiring wedding!! My fiance and I are both musicians and artists in our mid twenties and have a tight wedding budget... I love to see weddings that are not all about waving money in the guests faces, but instead transcend above all that flashiness and let the beauty and love between the couple show through. This looks like it was one of those truly beautiful weddings. I can feel the love that the bride put into all the details - since she handmade them all : ) Love the sash, shoes, dress (what a steal!!) and all the pretty florals! Congratulations to the lovely couple!
