Giveaway : Linda & Harriett 2009 Calendar
Email Article Earlier today I wrote about Linda & Harriett's new Vintage Wallpaper Stationery . . . and now it's time for the fun little giveaway.
I have a 4.5" x 9" letterpressed Linda & Harriett 2009 calendar to give away. The calendar is hole-drilled at top and tied with a double-faced gold satin ribbon for hanging. The entire calendar is hand-lettered. The designs are a mix of literal and imaginary - from umbrellas of April to a mermaid-inspired pattern of July. It's perfect for circling your special days in 2009 or as a gift.
To enter: simply leave me a comment with your response to this question . . . What lets you know the holiday season is here? (ex. is it the decorated stores?, is it the first snowfall?) Please be sure to also include your email address so I can contact you if you're the winner. Contest ends at midnight on Monday December 8th. I'll announce the winner here on Tuesday December 9th.

I think I really know it's the holiday season ONLY when I start feeling it internally. It's not the hustle and bustle of people in the stores or the music or the lights and the tinsel, but it's just the feeling I get that it's a special time of year. It builds as I talk to family members about plans for Christmas, catch up with high school friends (we always get together at Christmas!), and experience all the goodwill that people have in their hearts during this season of the year. I think THAT is what Christmas is about - friends, family, and giving. The other parts can be nice sometimes, glitzy or glamorous, but there's nothing like the warm feeling of being surrounded by those I love and cherish during the holidays to really put me into the "Christmas spirit".
I know it's the holiday season when "A Christmas Story" comes on for 24 hours on TBS. I absolutely love that movie and I usually end up watching at least 5 hours of the 24 hour marathon. LOL !
I'm loving the comments - thank you. But, please leave me your email address so I can reach you if you're the lucky winner on Dec. 9th. (if you are Katie or Brandi, please come back and leave another comment with your email)
Sorry!!!

I think it's the holidays when I start to hear Christmas music on the radio and in stores. It gets me excited for the season! meg9760{at}yahoo{dot}com
The holiday is season for me is craving hot chocolate and noticing myself humming Christmas carols all the time. You really can't get the songs out of your head not matter how hard you try. My family has birthdays near Christmas so I really enjoy buying gifts, it reminds me that I need to start my Christmas shopping. I love watching others become excited as they unwrap the less than perfect paper.

I love Christmas so I'm ready for it as soon August is over, but I think it is the change in the weather ,and just that feeling of being cozy and warm that lets me know its that time of year. Its also the lights ,decorations, music, and just the Christmas spirit that is everywhere

I know it is the holidays when my favorite radio station switches over and starts playing only christmas music! There is no better way to get into the Christmas Spirit then sing Christmas Carols at the top of your lungs in November! As soon as that happens, it swings me into the Christmas mood; instead of the cold nights feeling dreary, they now hold the promise of snow. It all of a sudden feels alot more fun to have it be winter time. As the hustle and bustle begins I feel myself getting more into the spirit as I schedule gatherings and reunite with old friends. There is always time to take a breather and curl up next to the fire with some hot chocolate. Ahhh, the holidays!

I know Christmas is near when I get the weekly phone calls from my 3 year old nephew, who lives in Hawaii where his parents are currently stationed, saying "Auntie how many more days until I see you?" My heart aches for them to come home for the holidays. To me that's the perfect Christmas gift. What more do you need than knowing your loved ones are safe at home?

What lets me know the holiday season is here the crispness in the air and the wonderful smells of the season.
I think it is the Christmas Season or any holiday season when you recieve your first card or picture in the mail or I guess by email too. The music and the decorations come out way to earlier these days, after halloween you cant even finish one holiday and enjoy it before the others creep in there. I think it gives you such a warm and tingly feeling when you recieve a nice card, letter or picture, it makes your day and you want to recipicate that feeling to others. For me I know the season is here when I want to spread it around because someone made my day with a seasonal note!
